You’ll first need to register and provide consent to participate in this study. Once enrolled, participants will fill out online surveys about their skin and hair as well as other environmental factors, general well-being, and current care routines. They will also take selfies to help researchers learn about skin and hair.

- Self-identifying women ages 18-70
- Live in the U.S.
- Able to read and understand English and/or Spanish
- Have a smartphone, tablet, or computer with internet access and a camera

What’s involved
Participants can contribute to this virtual research study by completing study activities at home, without any in-person visits.
Answer survey questions
Answer questions every two months about medical history, skin & hair, cosmetic routine, lifestyle, and environmental factors. Our research will demonstrate how these factors may impact your skin & hair health.

What you’ll receive
Compensation for completing initial set of surveys

Study FAQs
This study aims to create a "longitudinal" (long-term) study that evaluates how lifestyle, environment, age, and beauty perception may impact skin and hair. The study populations of interest include women participants of various ethnicities, skin tones, hair textures, and age ranges. The goal is to gather both qualitative and quantitative insights and make that information accessible and actionable for researchers and consumers. This is the first cosmetic science study of this size and scope.
The study is at least 18 months.
We will have and apply reasonable and appropriate safeguards to protect the security, privacy, and confidentiality of the personal information you share with us. For instance, all of your personal information will be securely maintained in an encrypted database with restricted access. We take additional steps to keep your identity from being linked with any of your information, e.g. L’Oréal will not have access to the identities of participants.
